I'm currently working on a piece about the inimitable Italian piazza, and its centrality to a certain town in Piedmont where I used to live. In the mean time, here's something I scribbled for The It Factor Mag -- an afternoon of conversations with some of Italy's up and coming food producers at Gusto Italia in London. 




I essentially spent several hours walking around a room filled with smartly dressed Italians, their noses buried deep in wine glasses, picking eagerly at samples of biscuits and chunks of bread with olive oil and cheese. In between tastings (and there were a lot of them) I spoke to some of the producers to find out their stories, their inspiration, and what they made of the global food trends gaining popularity in Italy.
